Hai sahabat sastra, pecinta novel dalam Bahasa Indonesia maupun Bahasa
Inggris, pembaca setia juga, kali ini saya akan memaparkan tentang
format dan contoh dari Book report yang pernah saya pelajari. Formatnya
yaitu ada Judul, penulis, penerbit, elemen-elemen novel (Tokoh,
karakter, waktu dan tempat), sinopsis, dan pesan moral. Hal-hal
tersebutlah yang dapat memberikan penjelasan singkat mengenai laporan
novel atau buku yang mana pembaca akan lebih mudah pahami secara jelas
dan singkat. Namun, tak ayal juga apabila ada pembeberan lain terkait
format dan elemen-elemen yang hilang, berbeda, ataupun kurang lengkap,
karena setiap peniulis pun punya panutan dan pedoman sendiri-sendiri.
Untuk itu mohon kritik dan saran apabila ada yg salah juga dengan contoh
yang saya berikan. Berikut contoh Laporan buku/novel (Book Report) dari

Summary
Tom lived with Aunt Polly, his brother Syd and his cousin Mary. Tom had a
close friend named Hucklebery Finn. He saw and fell in love with Becky for the
first time they met in the church. Becky also got the same school with Tom. The
first adventure began when Tom and saw a murder of Dr. Robinson by Injun Joe, accompanied
by Muff Potter. Yet, People put blame Muff Potter because of his knife. In the
trial of Muff Potter, Tom recognized that he looked Injun Joe had killed Dr.
Robinson and then Injun Joe escaped. Then in the summer, Tom and Huck spent their
holiday to seek a treasure. Huck and Tom saw Injun Joe and his friend hid the
stolen wealth and made a planning to kill the widow. When Tom, Becky and their
friends had a school picnic, Huck succeeded to save the widow. Unfortunately, Becky
and Tom trapped in the cave. On the way to get out from the cave, Tom saw Injun
Joe planed something awful. Fortunately they succeeded to find a way to get out
of the cave.
Then Becky’s father had closed the cave for a few days and Tom said that Injun
Joe was there. Injun Joe was found, he was starve and then dead. Finally Huck
and Tom got rich from the treasure. Huck and Tom thought to make Tom Sawyer’s
gang, be a high class robber and imagined for making some adventures.
C. Moral Lesson
We should be brave and honest like Tom and Huck did.

underestimated to the other people.
Other soldiers also underestimated
other people.
The General was wise.

B. Summary
Henry fleming joined the army, he
dreamed to be a hero. Yet, he couldn’t overcome his fears. Then he had fled. He escaped to avoid
the battle and he found the body of the army in the forest. It makes him more
frightened. He met Jim Conklin, he was brave but he gave up and he walked in
the danger direction till he disappeared. Henry kept run and suddenly he met
the other soldier. He was tattered man. He was so wise, he makes Henry kept
thinking along the war. He asked Henry about where his wound is. Henry realized
that he hadn’t fought enough, so he returned to his troop. He saw Wilson and Henry had thought that
Wilson had died in the battle. When Wilson felt that he would die, he gave
Henry a letter. By there, Henry and Wilson were closer. Henry was always underestimated by
the other soldiers in the camp. On the second chance to join the battle, Henry and Wilson heard
that the Officer looked down their troop and made their troop fought in the front line and let
them. Fortunately, they won. They could against the enemy very well and also
Henry and Wilson also got the flag. Therefore, the general gave them major general degree. Finally, they could be a real
hero and Henry could overtake his fear as he stood bravely in the battle.
C. Moral Lesson
We must be brave and never give up like Henry did.
